Winterizing and Freeze Protection
The Challenge: One customer had a washing system pump unit that would experience occasional freeze up if the outside temperature dipped below 0 degrees F.
Our Solution: We provided them with a range of immersion and tank heating solutions to prevent freeze up. They chose a water reservoir immersion heater and an in-line circulation heater to ensure the water solution would continue flowing.


Fluid Warming Application
The Challenge: Since time is critical in many life-saving situations, a medical device design team needed a thermal solution for rapidly heating plasma that is stored in a refrigerated environment.
Our Solution: The thermal solution needed to be fast, but not so fast that the plasma was damaged because of overheating. It would require an assembly designed with precision dimensions to optimize temperature uniformity. We designed and manufactured a low watt density silicone rubber heater with wattage distributed to provide uniform temperature. The heater was vulcanized to a robust conductive housing material.

Metals Processing
The Challenge: A parts finishing company was experiencing heater failure problems.
Our Solution: Some of the harshest applications for tank heating are the processing, heat treating, finishing and cleaning of metal parts. A wide variety of acid, base, aqueous and non-aqueous solutions provide a host of material, wattage and heater configuration challenges. Sludge build up, suspended particulates and other contaminants further complicate the application of electric heaters. For this customer, we recommended a switch from 304SS to Incoloy and a reduction in watt density by 1/2 to significantly reduce the corrosion rate and premature element failure.


Gas Line and Abatement Heating Applications
The Challenge: A manufacturer of LEDs used elevated temperatures in an abatement system, which reduced sublimation of materials that resulted in reduced yield and increased preventive maintenance.
Our Solution: They used phosphorus in the deposition process when scheduling a preventive maintenance (PM) cleaning of the exhaust lines every six weeks. Since phosphorus is flammable, the fire prevention team was on site during every PM. We recommended they install pump line heaters from the vacuum chamber to the scrubber.
